Hi All

I was out in the storm the other night trying to take a picture of some cracking lightning. My method was fool proof :cuckoo:, just keep taking random pictures till you get the perfect shot, ok fool proof might not have been the correct phrase hence why I ended up with 65 black pictures :bang:....... Then I started to think what if I do get the perfect timing and then find I have the wrong settings on the camera, so finally my question, what is the best settings to have for lightning?

Cheers for you expertise

Camera on a tripod, manual mode (set to "bulb"), ideally a remote release cable or use countdown timer to avoid any camera shake, aperture set to about f11 and focus on infinity (small aperture should give decent depth of field) and try 10, 15 and 20 second exposures.
It's easy.....

I got 20 black pictures the other night too
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Cheers, just what I as looking for, bring on the bad weather.............
