Lightening - How?

Hey guys,

I'm sure we would all love to be able to take awesome lightening shots, but how do you do it?

Long exposure, lightening reactions (Pardon the pun), ND filters and an even longer exposure?

Someone suggested a long exposure and hold a black card infront of the camera, move it when the lightening flashes.

Any advice?

you won't react to a lightening strike - pre-empt it possibly given practise, but the latter suggestion of tripod mounting and a long exposure with a card is possibly good one - you can get good firework shots like that.
