Am going to build myself a light tent out of pvc piping with screws in the back pipe to attach paper backgrounds.

Question is what material to drape over it...

I've heard of white muslin, is this any good.

TIA

Mick

I've found Vilene lining material to be very good. Available from all good haberdashery shops, easy to cut to size, comes in multiple densities, doesn't colour or texture the light and is relatively affordable.

I've probably got some left over from the last 'job' if you're in need of a few metres worth.

Thats a very kind offer...

Pm sent.

I used some synthetic photo canvas designed for a roll printer, You may be able to scrounge a roll end?

 I think I'll get some to add another diffusion layer to my softbox :)
same material is very useful for that too, I've made a couple of softboxes from cardboard and photo canvas.

No worries mate. Its good stuff. It has a texture like silk so I found it a bit of a sod to tape down as it was sliding all over but it was worth the trouble I think. For that price its worth getting a few metres so you can try out using several layers. I have seen ripstop being ised a lot by other folks for building light tents and soft boxes etc.
