Hi all
Need some help adding some light effects in Photoshop CS6.
I shot a wedding and the bride, and cousins, all suffer from epilepsy which meant I couldn’t use flash. I normally shoot the dancing with 2nd curtain and slow shutter to get light streaks from DJ / Room lights etc.
I would like to add this in PP, so long as its realistic and ties in with the ambient and DJ lights.
Does anyone know how this could be achieved? I know layers, masks, etc
Not sure re the best approach to this…..All the lighting effets that come up froma google search are all a bit OTT and not quite what im after.

Im sure you know the effect, cant post an image right now im afraid. Im looking foir blurry / streaky lights or sharper Zigzag effect to convey a sense of motion / energy....

Any hekp would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

Try experimenting with the blur filter and layer masks
Selective image adjustments
I.e.
Open in PS, copy layer add motion blur, add mask and mask the blur with a low value brush around the subject.
Select part of a streak, feather, then adjust the saturation and brightness.
Or just dodge the highlights.

Just have a play with different blur filters.

This is just a snap but you get the idea.
