Light area on images shot on 1DS MK3

I have noticed a light area along 1 side of my images; it varies in width. I am shooting on a 1ds mk 3 with L series lenses. Can anyone shed any light on this please! (No pun intended...) Can send example. Thanks

Upload your iages to somewhere like Photobucket or Flickr then copy the image tag and post it in here, if you are using flickr then you have to take the URL and ad
at the end, photobucket does this for you.

If you don't have external hosting then you can stick it in your gallery space on this site (max 200k and 800x600 pixels)

It may not be the best example, but the light area is at the top of the image

I would guess there is a developing shutter problem. The issue is more pronounced at fast shutter speeds.

I would send it to Canon CPS or one of the authorised repair centres.
 
IF you shoot at 1/60th or there abouts you'll probably notice no real line - untill 1/200th ish. If thats the case - dead/dying shutter.

You'll notice it most at high speeds like 1/2000th.
 
Hi, why is it then that i have images shot on 1/3200 that show no sign of this?
 
Adam,

Try to reproduce the fault and then take a second shot using Liveview but with the same settings. If the problem band is still there then the shutter can be eliminated.

I am not sure this will indeed eliminate it. Camera will still use the shutter to time the shot. At least 40D does. Full electronic shutters are sadly still not here. LV will only do away with using the mirror.

Sorry, I meant to say if the problem is still the same. My assumption being that in normal operation it is the mirror that ends the exposure on potentially open portion of shutter....this isn't the case at the end of a Live View initiated show.
