Lighroom Question

Pete

Are you talking about adding white space to the image or just increasing the image size overall.

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I'm talking about adding white (or another colour) space. So, for example, taking a portrait headshot and adding some space to the left so that it is landscape with the image taking up 1/3 of the space.

I have just done it but went into CS3 and used to the canvas size tool.

Cheers

Pete

I am with you now...

You do not have to use the canvas tool you can use the crop tool with your background colour set to white.

You drag your crop tool over the image and then get hold of one of the handles and stretch the crop to what you want it to be and hit the enter key.

The extended space added by the crop tool is then inserted as pure white.

You just have to make sure that the back ground of the original image is white as well, but saying that you can mop it up with the dodge tool.

Yep it is in PS, I have not found any way of doing it easier...

The only way of doing it in Lightroom would be to use LR2 Mogrify but that would be a right pain as you would have to do it on an image by image basis and it you be rather slow.

I think it would be easier to stick with PS for carrying out that type of thing.

You could go to the print module in Lightroom, and drop the image into a template that has a border and then export as a jpeg or simply print from there
