Hi
I would like to put the spotlight on lifestyle for photographers. This would focus on many of the issues that confront photographers and the effect it has on their life and business i.e. image, personal development, motivation, dress, health, exercise, studio presentation and so on.

I would like this to go out as an open question - is there any call for it?
I welcome your feedback.
Regards.
Henry

Well I am a complete novice & hobbyist, but it has a very positive impact on my levels of stress, helps me meet new people, but on the flip side, often creates difficulty when in comes to a spending time with your wife / hobby balance.

Welcome to the forum!
Edit:
Just read your post, too mcuh to go into to comment on all those points. Do you want hobbyists replying? If so, I will do it later.

Is there any call for it in what way? As a single thread here?
I think it would take a whole forum to address all the issues you mentioned, which is what talkphotography already does?

not a pro and photography is only a hobby for me but its kind of taken effect

photo's are getting better but i always want to go to events to get decent shots, resulting in lighter wallet lol, also buying new things, lens, accessories etc now i am well into it

motivation i think is getting a decent pic and thinking of ways to make them better (i mostly think on the way home i wish i did this or that) but now i am at the stage i am happy with what i have and what i get image wise

only get stressed when i want images processed etc soon as i get in or the day after and get bored of sitting processing but needs must

not really into the rest of the questions all that much so cant really comment

Yes. I think there is a call for it. Imagine a world without images!

Personally, it has a tremendous positive impact on my life, in fact its a real thrill.
The domino effect of this is a good family life .... 'if moma's happy, everyone's happy'!!

I don't know what it has to do directly with health and especially dress as I spend all my money on photography equipment!

Sounds like you're hunting for business here Henry

Checked out your website - there's some very strong opinions there isn't there!

I especially like your views on the '3 types' of photographers - very subtle - NOT

:D:D:D

Pity there's no pics to look at though - is that something you're addressing soon?

Well Henry7 I feel such a glow being in the presence of a master photographer.. However I have a feeling you want to take more out of the forum than put in. Shame because there arn't many master photographers about these days...

So as a master photographer will you show us some of your work as there doesn't seem to be any on your website.

Oh and welcome master....

sniff sniff .... :)

Okay, you are clearly an elitist - no question about it - you admit so on this page - http://www.7dayphotobargains.com/3groups.html

What I want to know is...do you not think for someone like yourself, a master photographer who would - I quote "personally would have nothing to do with" the inferior togs, do you not think you should have hired a master web designer? :D You have an absolute dog's dinner of a site, and the very few small photo's that make up part of the design APPEAR to have been taken by the very people you say you have nothing to do with?

:suspect:

For example, the only photo's I can see:

Nice

:D

This is also quality:

Nice and sharp, the blue background helps loads, and I really especcially love the finger.

I really enjoy the balanced contrast and exposure here:

I love this clearly "mastered" portrait:

I like the artistic slice running across the forehead of the gent, also is that a small insect flying about above the left ear on the gent? Pretty dramatic.

Can you share the technique for the special effects you applied to the arms on this dummy? Reminds me of Star Wars I think:

This is great, the branch adds a lot to this shot and the shiny forehead really draws me in

I'm not interested in taking a course but i'll just say i wouldn't be interested in paying someone with the views expressed on the above mentioned page to train me.

It's a pretty bad business decision to insult a massive proportion of your potential customers don't you think?

Lovely photos on the site though, don't you think ;) :D

:bang:

hmmmm i took a similar course and it was the most benefitial thing ive done in my photographic history as so to speak, this doesnt inspire me so much. On the whole lifestyle thing, buy the sounds of most of the older members (than me) it takes a toll on the wallet.

Hmm just had a look on the Forum on www.7dayphotobargains.com. Looks a little bare
as does the newsletter page.

I wont say anything about the web design, its already been said. And as for the three types of photographers, yes you may be able to find some who match those criteria, but having met many hundreds, both amateur and professional I can't say I recognise the descriptions

To be fair to the guy, I think he was trying "test the water" by asking us togs whether or not there is a call for such "motivational courses". However I don't agree with the way he has approached his target audience. And surely every good business does it's market research before launching it's product to the public.

That video is hilarious:lol:, I'm hurting, my ribs are killin me, theres my cup of tea everywhere now, the chap's trousers are up to his armpits, it's so funny, even the name, someone please help!

I have just gone back and looked at the website.
I'm afraid I'd run a mile from any services offered here.
No comment on the design.
'Say it with flowers' whats that about:suspect:
'snotty nosed little brat' ... oh dear......'inferior' ...what???:gag:

I would like to know why you have taken 30 years to train as a professional photographer and what training you did?

closing, and quite probably removing
