Hi folks, been missing lately, as some of you know I lost one of our Cavaliers 16 days ago so was not online much during that period.

Anyway I have just returned from a week in North Yorkshire where the Cottage accommodation did not have internet facilities, I missed being able to get online, especially in the mornings as I usually wake up early so have a few hours browsing before Mrs G and the dog (son to be dogs:)) require my attention.

I was really looking forward to getting back in the swing of things on returning home but that was not to be as I have a fault on the line:bang: my calls are being diverted to my mobile, my internet speed is only between 5 and 15Kbs :bang: so I am having to make several attempts to send emails.

I am not getting this fixed by BT until Monday :( I hope I have some hair left by then:D

I can't live without the internet, can you.

Here goes trying to send this................

I lost my connection a year ago for a week and as you all know I have no hair left anymore

I'm so addicted that I bought an iphone a couple of weeks ago to satisfy my need... :D

First off sorry to hear about your Cavalier.

I couldn't live without the internet for three main reasons. The first being my job, I am a web developer so that would kind of make it redundant.

Second is online shopping, I hate shopping and the fact that I can order what I want from my room whilst sitting in my pants (and its cheaper then trapsing all over town) to me is the best thing since sliced bread.

Thirdly is the community/knowledge sharing side of things, without the internet this site wouldnt exist, we wouldnt know half of what we do about what is happening around the world, you can get advice/information about pretty much anything you need at the touch of a button.

I cant imagine life without it now, when we moved house and was without it for weeks it became clear on how might I need it in my life.

life without the internet is a myth :P been using smart phones for the last 4 years and I get twitchy if I'm on slow broadband (ie at home) let alone on dialup hehehhee

Not only did I not have an internet connection where we were staying but I had to go out and stand in the middle of a field on one leg to get a mobile phone signal , if I moved just a few inches I lost the connection so I could not use one of those dongle things to get online.

At the 10th attempt..........:bang:

If I didn't know better, I'd suspect Serge had arrived and chewed through the phone cable.
We both hope everything goes well on Sunday and don't forget his raspberries. He's been without them for days now! :D ;)
Pleased you had a good holiday.

Life without the internet hurts...

You booked a holiday without checking net access

I'm sure that there is a fault on the line and that the Openscreech engineer will sort it on Monday. But..... what you describe could be down to a microfilter in your establishment going loopy. It might be worth checking :)

I have only now got my line fixed properly since returning home last Thursday!!

BT had made a right mess at the "green cabinet" for the village, they had actually mixed up the lines at the 3rd attempt at fixing the problem and calls were going to the wrong houses!!

Sunday,:love::love: not far from you actually, East Kilbride:)

(at the 6th attempt)
Hi,
Just noticed your getting a wee pup, we got our Tri Cavalier puppy from there (Hamish) from a lady from Alaska (Beth) could this be the same breeder? If so say Hello from us (Brian and Ruth and wee Hamish)
