Hi,

I had an assignment for a magazine, I gave them a license to use for 1 issue, I was wondering if I can sell the pictures to libraries .. ?is there any exclusivity ..?

Thanks

I'd say after it's published in the mag you'd be free to do what you want with it.

Did you sell them an exclusive use license? If not then you've answered your own question!

If the licence did not mention it is exclusive (and your price reflected that) it is not exclusive.

I'm not sure what it is like in other areas, but in actions sports it is a big no-no having the same image used in 2 different magazines in the same market (ie Europe/UK/USA), it will pi55 off photo editors.

Thanks everyone .. !! Im new in the UK and my english is not very good .. I would like to assist a professionnal photographer to get used to the industry .. do you know someone ? here is my website .. you can have a look www.rudyburbant.com

Cheers

Once the picture/s has been published it;s not longer exclusive. If the magazine is monthly, then you should be free to publish elsewhere after that date. I recently had an exclusive set of pictures in a magazine, They were available for other purchasers the day after the magazine came out. But, if you have said exclusive for 1 year, than you must stick to it. other than that, once the pictures have been used they are yours to send elsewhere.
