LiberaOffice writer can you explain please?

I Just spent all afternoon doing a quiz on Libra Office, sent it to my boss as a RTF file but when on opening have discovered it's converted it to a spread sheet and also deleting some pictures I also had on there.

Have sent the files after a panic in ODT files, but I'm worried he won't be able to open them which will be a pain as have spent hours typing away. How do I prevent this from happening again?

If your boss doesn't need to edit - export as/create a pdf
If they do need to edit, get them to install LibreOffice too.

Save the files as .doc or .xls according to the program you wish him to open them in, if he needs to edit them.

PDF then. You can use something like CutePDF to create a virtual printer on your PC that will create a .pdf file.

You don't need additional software as you can create a pdf directly from Libre Writer. Fifth icon from the left.

Scroll down the options and save as a .doc or a .docx, or export a pdf, directly from LO ...

I was not aware of this and I use LibreOffice from time to time. CutePDF is still useful for other applications though
