Yes
I need a new phone and the LG G4 seems to tick all the boxes for me (price, screen size etc).

I've read all the reviews, but with phones it's always handy to hear the real story from actual users!

So are there any owners of the G4 here and if so how do you find it?

Looked at this myself, until I read about the BootLoop issue, with little resolution from LG for owners........I am looking at Samsung again now.

I wasn't aware of this, thanks! Just done a bit of googling and seeing as I'd probably be buying S/H or refurbished, it's not a risk I fancy taking!

Looks like I'll be avoiding the G4 then!

I've had the G4 for over a year now and not had the bootloop issue. It affected a certain batch of serial numbers. LG fixed the issue by having it sent in to them as a work colleague experienced it due to his G4 falling into the affected serials. Later production runs like mine been working solid.

It might be worthwhile looking at the new announced Moto G5 variants as pretty good value. The higher spec one has Samsung S7 camera and both have near stock android which the G4 or Samsung can't even touch.

I have the G4 which had an issue - just wouldn't switch on (guess it might be bootloop) - it has been repaired and works like a dream...

I had one for over a year with not a single issue until I dropped it and it started boot looping. I now have the G5

Having done some more Googling it seems that the bootloop issue might explain why the G4 is available so cheap.

Im currently using a Motorola Moto G4 and while its ok, it's very underwhelming and struggles to multitask. Also the camera and video are rubbish!

I guess I'll keep looking!

Have a look at the one plus range, it does not use pure android but are good phones. The other option is the new Moto g5.

I am on the Moto g (original version) and am waiting for the g5 as I don't want to spend much on a new phone.

Most the reports were from phones with 5xx serial numbers ie those made in 2015. There's very few reports of bootlooping from the 6xx models. My 509 numbered one bootlooped within 3 months and was replaced with a 603 one and has been no trouble at all since. I get about 1.5 days battery life from it with low usage (mainly checking messages, fb and a bit of browsing) so got a spare battery right awhile ago and it's much lighter than carrying around a powerpack. Only annoyances are because of the curved back it rocks a bit if you use it lying flat on a surface

In use it's a lovely phone. Great screen and camera that lets you shoot RAW. Gets a bit hot if you shoot 4K video but otherwise video quality is very good as well. LG have just announced it will be upgraded to Nougat later this year. My photos are saved on the sd card and contacts backed up on google and the card so even if it did loop again, there isn't anything to lose

If you can get it new with a 24 month warranty I wouldn't be bothered at all if you can get it at a good price. LG will repair it directly if you bought it new and at this late stage will probably replace it with a G5 or G6 if you get lucky in 20 month time!

Unfortunately I'm looking at buying refurbished or second hand. The longest warranty I can see with a refurb is 12 months and it'd not be direct with LG.

The price was what made the refurbished G4s so attractive, but although it looks like a great phone, the risk of having a bricked phone after 12 months is too great.
