Took a few photos last week while abroad and came home to find the card cannot be read when I pug it into the Lexar USB 3.0 reader

- all of my other cards used on the trip are fine

The card is a Lexar compact flash 8Gb UDMA 7 800x

Anyone had this issue, your advice would be very much appreciated

No idea how but I managed to drag them off the card using my old laptop - have doubts about using that card again though

Bin the card, never worth the risk for the sake of a new replacement.

It happens occasionally with me using that card reader and lightroom. I just unmount the disk and then re-insert it and all is well. Presumably the card wasn't filled to the brim, that it had been formatted before use and images weren't being deleted from the camera?
I'm getting a new identical reader tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see if it continues. It could be the reader, or a bug in lightroom etc. but I doubt it's the card as it's happened on a few with me...

Yeah all my other cards are fine - and that particular card gets a lot of use every weekend (nightclub pics & keyring producing)

I have that same card but use a Kingston card reader and have had no problem with it.

Hey Trevor have you tried connecting the camera to the computer direct via usb and transferring the files that way?

If that works for you to get the files of format the card and try a few test files as it sounds like the card is corrupt.

Glad you got it sorted...

I'd be in contact with Lexar re the issues and see if it's covered by their warranty and be replaced...
