We wear tartan skirts and drink loads of whisky. All the men have long ginger hear and beards (The women, they brunette, beards too), and we have a bath in a hut, in the garden once a week.

Its awesome you should visit.

oh yea, the tartan skirts, i forgot about those! and the strange bags of wind under your arms that make high-pitched sounds, and ya cute little dances in your skirts with high socks on, and live in big stone castles and have lots of parties and naughty parties :D (well that's what happened in Casino Royale- the 60s or 70s comedy version that is!)

Speak for yourself. I've lost my ginger hair.:p

wow this thread went sooo far off track

next season will be great, new cars, level playing field for many. Expect BMW, Mclaren and Ferrari to be quick but also look out for Honda and Red Bull..Williams might find the mojo again too

Drivers...Kubica, Alonso, Raikkenon, Hamilton, Button..all in with a shout if they have the good car under them. Button gets forgotten, but he can drive at the top, he has just been stuck in a crap car for too long. Rosberg and Vettel also have the talent to win.

see i think Hekki will push on alittle more to, season just gone was his second in F1 and now going into his second season with mclaren should be better. i think the likes of Glock/Button/Webber may play more into contention next year. as well as the Alonso/Hamilton/Raikonnen/Massa fight.

first prediction for next season so ealy is a Mclaren Constructors win and either Lewis or Alonso win Drivers and Ferrari win nothing

i did think Alonso was an arse early in the season but i have alot of respect for him of late and think he will be a big contender next season with a car under him

Yeah i thought Alonso to be an arse, but have much respect for him, in a much under powered car, highly evident in the lack of pace of the Renualt powered Redbull against the Ferrari powered Toro rosa (same chassis)

TBH i think Renault, Ferrari, and Mclearn will be on some what the back foot for the start of next year, with the likes of Honda, and BMW completely stopping development of there cars half way though the season. I think Renault will be in better shape then Ferrari and Mclearn as Alonso is much better at getting the most of the car then either Ferrari driver, Hamilton is unproven on that front. So yes one hell of an open season should be on the cards for sure.

massa really that good, the ferrari was the best car by some margin at a lot of the races, kimi shoved it off the road a couple of times and had lewis tonk him up the arris, but who had the most fastest laps and in which car?

i dont think Lewis is the "best" driver in the paddock, that goes to Alonso

:cuckoo:

I'm sorry, but I thought when Alonso and Hamilton were team mates, and driving an identical car, and Alonso had 6 years F1 experience and 2 world titles under his belt while Lewis was in his first F1 year; that the fact Lewis drove circles around him would show he was the better driver?

Kimi in the Ferrari

and with regards Lewis being better, as much as i want to agree i think its untrue he is, given another 18/24 months experience and he will be close but Fernando will take some catching

no one knows what went on and we only ever got Mclarens side. Alonso was told to shut up basically once he left. Mclaren started backing lewis half way throught the season and that was shown alot in the last few races of the 07 season when Lewis was miles quicker than Alonso, not down to the driver when it was always the same but more of a setup thing and mclaren taking more interest in Lewis

Kimi, precisely. with better luck he should have been challenging instead of Massa

Lewis only beat Massa by one point......

but if you take into account penalties & changes of grid position it *could* have been a bit more :D

but IF you taken into account the points Ferrari though away like Massa engine failure when leading what 2 laps until end of race, it would still have been at least as close.

And as Murry Walker would say IF is F1 spelt backwards.

yeah exactly, Kimi always showed his pace mid races after loosing the time behind others

qualifiying was his problem and not getting heat into his front tyres. had he have done that and started higher up the grid i think it would have been two red cars chasing lewis

hekki on the other hand was very quick in some quali's yet slow in races, Monza being prime example

Heikki in a Mclaren has been one of the dissapointments along with Piquet at Renault. Heikki started to show a little bit at the tail end of last season, and I thought this would be translated into good form at Mclaren.

Piquet has been a bit of a disaster really, especially when compared to Hamilton debut season, and to think there were people out there that rated Piquet higher than Lewis.

Welcome to the forum

I am amazed that Piquet has been given another shot at Renault, he has been atrocious for the vast majority of the season.

Will be intersting if Bruno Senna gets a seat at Honda, cos I think he may actually live up to the hype more than Piquet.

i think that aswell, he will do the tests etc and then come in with less fear than Piquet IMO, he has spent less time in single seaters racing so wont be afraid

well they are clearly going to test senna before they commit to Barichello, so lets hope Brawn doesnt keep RB for old times sake and takes a punt on the newbie. After all, they will have experience in Button, so a fresh young gun is just the thing i think they need.

Not sure about Rubins' future anymore - telling the world that Michael Schumacher is gay opens a very big cellar full of bodies & Ross Brawn is right in the middle of those.

Back to the Lewis thing - I recall being told by a fella from London Town who claimed to have lots of contacts in motorsport & fair amount of experience himself that Lewis was utter pants & that F1 woud find that out. Well, just goes to show how wrong you can be doesn't it? The same fella reckoned that Nelson Piqeut Jr was the dog's whatsits.

I expect he's been man enough to admit that he got it utterly wrong by now & I think some other people should do the same.

Lewis is the yardstick in F1 now & will be for quite some time to come & rather than slagging him off for that we should be celebrating it.

when did rubens slip that out then(if you parden the pun)

oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh there were rumours about ralf for some time..

anyone got a finnish translation that ISNT gobbledegook?

you may call me Sir Adrian if you prefer.
