Any letting agents in this forum...need some advice...:D
 
My young lassie is thinking of starting a letting agency and was looking some advice. I have looked on the web and there is loads of advice etc but I thought I would ask on here, just in case we have an agent on the forum.:)
 
My girlfriend has a friend who was a letting agent, she said it was the worst, most stressful job she has ever had, if the tenants are happy the landlord isn't, and if the landlord is happy the tenant isn't.

Letting agent or managing agent? Very different animals......

She's probably already aware that this is an incredibly heavily regulated industry - and it's only going to get worse. For whatever reason, the government appears to have declared war on the private rental sector.
 
looking at the market where I am currently contracting in Erskine there seem to be more letting agents than property, looks like a very aggressive market.
Does she have a landlord with properties she can work with or would she be starting from blank?

She already manages 2 properties which her and her partner own...but she thinks that she would like to expand.
 
The business on the ground floor where Mrs Nod has her business is a letting agent and at the moment, they seem to be there almost 24/7 (university city and new academic year.) In the 4 years we've known the boss, he's gone almost completely bald (but does have a couple of kids!)
