Hi.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good letterpress printing and packaging company?

I would like to use letter press for some photography business cards and also need letter press service for clothing "hang tags". I've found a few places online but they are charging A LOT.

I am also after some small thick walled boxes that I can use to mail albums. Not normal single/double walled packaging boxes. But more like boutique boxes. Again, I've found a few sites, but they charge ridiculous amounts.

Would gladly appreciate some guidance or help.

Letterpress costs a lot because it's hard and expensive to do :(

In the US most letterpress is actually fake. IIRC Walmart do some kind of process where they deboss and then print over the top with a regular printer.

I think Blush do most of the affordable letterpress in the UK http://www.blushpublishing.co.uk/ - lots of small companies send their work to them.

My cards are done by Noble Fine Art (http://www.noblefineart.co.uk/business/index.htm) and they certainly have the wow. But not cheap ;)

I understand the fact that their expensive, but I don't see people justifying £400-£700 for 500 3cm x 10cm letterpress prints in black and white.

I am pretty tempted to get myself a letter press device to pay itself off in the long run.
But then I run the risk of not producing high quality prints, but practice makes perfect. It may be worth it as I'd not need to pay for my cards as well as a family members cards and hang tags

I did see someone mention Noble, someone said to talk to David or something, I have sent a message,
but I've not heard anything from them. I shall re-send a message.

Thank Jonathan, advice has been appreciated. :)

Still welcoming suggestions.

All I can say is that I know people with hand powered letterpress machines and they think their costs are reasonable. In fact, often they still outsource to Blush.

Talk to David at Noble. He'll sort you out with some quality :)
