NICE!

i think i have to agree with you on that, the footage off platoon that they set it to is amazing as well.

and cheers for the song title, i had it down as elgar on my ipod which i knew was wrong but couldnt remember the true title and composer!

whats better is that if you click on the song links from that utube page you get 2 dance mixes of the song, one is by william orbit which is a reasonable version of it in a dancy way, the second is a version by dj tiesto which is about as enjoyable as realising you;ve just caught the end of your cock in your flys

You've started me now with this thread.... I have this on repeat and it runs for hours at a time in the background. Haven't had it on for days but now it's back:lol:
Sad I know but it gets to me every time.

Have to agree here, Adagio for Strings is a beautiful piece of music, so passionate. Originally written for string quartet, but the adagio movement proved so popular that Sammuel Barber was persuaded to transcribe it for full orchestral strings - a shrewd move indeed.

Here's another version of this piece, this time sung... also very beautifully. One needs absolute pitch perfect intonation and tuning to be able to sing something such as this. Have a listen if you like the Adagio for Strings...

... and another classic choral called Miserére by a polish composer called Gregorio Allegri. This Youtube version shows the score as the choir sing through the piece. Lovely...

My taste in music is varied, I'll listen to almost anything - just found this guy playing Pachelbel Cannon on electric guitar - my favourite classical piece - amazing! I'm in awe of people who can play a musical instrument - wish I'd learnt.:) All I can play is London's Burning on the recorder - badly

I too like all sorts of music, although I do have a thing for soundtracks  , but one of my favorite tracks to date is this.....

Steve Vai 'For the love of god'

If I could play guitar this would be my fav....I also still have this concert on TAPE?? recorded of the TV 15 years ago...scary

I don't like opera generally, nor US country (twangy guitar on the porch singing about my dead wife/dog that's left stuff),
:cuckoo:So to prove there is always an exception to a rule I'm currently listening to three hours of Johnny Cash.
