Let it snow!

Hi Folks,

I've had a bit of a surf and haven't managed to to find anything that suits my needs or budget.

I'm after some snow effects that I can add to photo's for a bit of fun with the family over Christmas and I'd like to be able to add a snow effect
to some shots.

I'd like to be able to overlay some falling snow and some fallen snow, it doesn't have to be realistic but I needs it to be better
than just blanking it out with the white paint brush in gimp.

Preferably free or cheap and it needs to work on a Mac.

Dont use Gimp myself but I found a youtube that may be useful to you
