Currently undergoing a full resto.

just been right through the thread over there - fantastic stuff :D :D :D

having spent just over 2 years restoring a Cortina from the same period I know exactly what kind of work goes into projects like that. Gotta say though, I think I had it hard with getting parts, but it seems pretty easy compared with what you've had to go through!!!

Good luck with the rest of the project - make sure you let us know how you're getting on with it :D

ooooo come on then, I'll play along too

heres my toy

erm................thanks

APPARENTLY i have a chavs car, but one problem, i'm deffintiley no CHAV.

I'm 34, work for BT, own my own house, and it didn't belong to the council, i have never and will never own anything by Burberry or Reebok, i haven't added the usual Beaked Bean Can exhaust, i don't hang around McDonalds or Halfords, i certainly have never owned a bloody Corsa (frigging Cockroaches), i have never said the words - Innit, Ya Get Me or I'll Stab Ya! Should i carry on:lol:

So with this in mind BB, go for it, BTW, have you put your car on here? Or is it you have car envy and just like giving other people car's grief?

So, by saying "USUAL", you are implying that your stereotypical CTR owner would do such a thing ?

Yus, my mowters on the last page, (or the page before, I forget) and I didn't buy it out of choice, so had somebody else started a slagging thread, I prolly wouldn't have posted my car.

Lastly, Chill out man, its only a larf innit !!!!

Or is it you have car envy and just like giving other people car's grief?

And thats a definate no no !!

I had the only car I could ever want last year. I sold it because at the time, I could'nt afford the petrol for it (It was a thirsty b****r), still can't, but when I can, I will get another.

The question is, will you ever find another Wartburg? :exit:

That is seriously not a chavs car, chavs like something fast  Mines a sub 1000cc at the mo but will have a nice little 2.0L in it soon :D

I own a corsa, don't hang around mc donalds or halfrods. Go to mc donalds get what i want to get then move on, go to halfrods get what i want then come home.

Not really !

Cant slag that fella ! Lot of car for very little money. Assuming of course its not a wimpy straight six and its not rotted away to little more than flakes of golden brown dust underneath those pristine arches and sills.

Its very much the "old mans" Jag though. I've always lusted after an XJS V12. Cant find one cheap enough though

Me uvver motoh iz in dere sumware...........

Say what you like - It cost me £450, sailed through it's 2nd MOT at the end of August, and if it gets dinged, scratched or dirty, I couldn't give a monkeys:)

not a picture of the actual car but the same thing

First off CTRs are cracking cars and bloody rapid. When owned by the right type of people they are friggin' fantastic.

Oh and that S2K

ta. i feel better now.
the bars do look high in that shot. but its comfy for 200+ miles.
it only had a top half fairing. ya should be able to see an air cooled lump anyway.

I got the soft top yen out of my system with the S2K after I ran it for 2.5 years. Brilliant sports car in the dry round the twisties, but 'interesting' in the wet and really shouldn't be on the road at all in snow and ice unless on very different tyres to the stock ones. I need to be rolling in all weathers so I opted for the first model CTR as being more practical when I changed, and never regretted it for one minute.

No2 son just bought one of these - all the toys including satnav. Very practical and pretty luxurious.

Take your pic :D

If you have all those Volvos, do you get confused on the 4 lane motorways ? I mean, there's actually no "middle lane" so which one do you sit in :D

(T5 - nice lump, I have one in my Focus.......)

Steve

And how often has it been "off road" ?

Actually, he's got an engineering business, so the pick up gets some serious use. As for the off road bit, I can guess where you might be going with that, and I might tend to agree with you. ;)

OK, my turn to feed BB.

Here's my Focus......

I purposesly stayed away from ASBO orange, quite fancied a black one, but this was the domonstrator and I quite liked the colour.

I've done a little bit of work on it, it has a larger turbo down pipe and a sports cat, but the back box and end pipes are standard (not too much noise). It can breathe a bit better also, and obviously, it's been remapped. Currently running about 275bhp (last time on the rollers). It's fun to drive and very comfortable. Most of all it surprises a lot of people driving quite expensive cars (although I couldn't keep up with an M5 on the A24 the other day :shake:)

That T5 derrived engine is lovely - I'm seriously thinking about the new Mondeo Titananium X Sport, with the same lump - only thing is the 22mpg I get if I'm a bit heavy with the right foot.
