Lesson learnt?

Now just when did the expression "more money than sense" start and with this example never a better real life one

PS Based on the story I surmise the mentioned individuals do really own those oh so expensive cars?

Stunningly brilliant !

Actually just who would turn up in a car [ no matter the type ] to collect another that had been impounded by the cops ? There was no mention of a second driver being involved

What is it with these yuppies who buy high end sports cars to drive around cities?? Makes no sense, cars designed for racing crawling through traffic at 10mph

Many years ago when I was involved in dog rescue, we had to pick up a load of high end stuff from a posh place in
London, it was in the garage along with a Aston Martin, no he would let me take that as well ;) but it did sound
nice when started up in the garage
He employed someone to drive it along a motorway once a week, the rest of the time it was driven around London by himself. I asked why and his reply was "Driving at high speed along a motorway no one really notices, driving
slow round London get lots of admiring glances"
Did offer my services if hos driver ever left :D

I guess there's the attention grabbing factor, I think to drive cars like these you have to be pretty confident in yourself to begin with. I don't know ... I'd feel a embarrassed driving a bright yellow Lambo around but I prefer to be under the radar :shifty:

Yep, I'm the same and I wouldn't buy one of these cars even if I had the money, not my thing at all. I prefer sleepers personally.

This story just smacks of the old ‘taxes are for poor people’ attitude of the rich

(Yes I’m aware it’s not a ‘tax’ as such but to the layman the tax I pay on my beer and the duty I pay are inseparable as they end up in the tax mans account not mine).

Given the capabilities of such cars, it's pretty pointless them being driven on any UK road.

It's also fairly unpleasant driving them in slow traffic, let alone parking them. You don't even get the pleasure of looking at them while you're driving.
