Public humilialtion time :bonk:
Daughter needed dropping off today in town so decided we'd make trip of it and take the dog with us for a little runaround before lunch. He's a 5 month old springer and still a bit.....lively
Anyway - I get him on his lead, leave the house, press the button on the car key fob for the remote boot release (it's a Mondeo estate) and wrestle with the dog to get him in and subsequently take the lead off him and leave it in there with him.........along with my keys :shake:.......and slam the door shut :amstupid:
There's that period of time known as an "onosecond" where you realise what you've done :nono: - spare keys kept at head office (150 miles away) - RAC chap comes out and spends about 20 minutes and eventually we get in with no damage done (other than to my rep) :bang:
So - lesson learnt - and a very common occurance with those of us with remote boot release functions on the key - always open up the rest of the car at the same time
