Less than a month *

Loving season 3 so far... can't believe it's nearly over. :'(

Poor Theon is having a bit of a rough time though!

I'm loving the development of Daenerys character from shy vulnerable girl into The Mother of Dragons!
Great moment in the last episode
"Err excuse me, that's my gold now"
 :notworthy:

You much be watching a different GoT to me Joe ;)

Theon
Daenerys
Tywin Lannister v Joffrey
Jamie Lannister and Breanne on their way back to Kings Landing
etc etc

I'd hardly say it's gone a bit stagnant!

Personally I'd say that there's so much going on in every episode that I'm struggling to keep up!

im not saying there isn't stuff going on, but what's going on in those storylines is a bit weaker than in season 1 and 2

*** spoilers below ***

Tirian getting married to sansa
jamie on his way back to kings landing
rob getting all loved up
bran off to find some random raven

I mean when you compare those storylines to season 1 and 2 they are nowhere near as exciting as ned stark losing his head, zombies wandering through the north, kings landing preparing for invasion etc.

Sadly its just much weaker apart from the ongoing Daenerys story. I still like it, but I recognise the storylines are much weaker than season 1 and 2.

The story is moving rather slowly, and some scenes (eg the dungeon torture) seem gratuitous now. It's pacing needs sped up to keep the interest level high like it was in season 1 and 2.

Assuming they continue to follow the storylines in the books reasonably closely... there's a fair amount of scene setting going on and some pretty dramatic conclusions to some of those storylines on the horizon!

thats what it feels like. Stagnant and very slow middle to lead to a big conclusion. The other seasons had epic conclusions with much more interesting middles.

I think that's whats wrong with this season

nail. head

Khaleesi rocks.
That is all.

Less tits in season 3 too

Just to lower the tone

Comeon now, apart from the last 3 mins you have to admit that was a slow episode

Although a lot more boobs

Nothing slow about it. I really enjoyed it just don't want to wait until June for the next episode.

It's feeling a bit drawn out. They need to trim down some scenes and inject drama faster. All of the politicking is fine for a bit, but my mind starts to wander when it drags on.

The Red Wedding... was THAT dramatic enough for you? :D

Well no one can say that was draw out or slow moving etc. and the last episode of the series is next week.

That was one hell of a way to end an episode!! Really wasn't expecting that!
Can't wait for ep10 next week, the series finale. It's going to kick off big time!!

Then another year for series four.

Tempted to re-read the books.

About time something happened. The last 2 episodes were a waste of time. Lets hope they continue with episodes more like that one

There's only one episode left.

Brilliant episode.

Does anyone who's read the books know where abouts the tv series is in terms of, if i where to start reading them?

The red wedding is near the end of book 3 (A Storm of Swords) as I recall.

You should really start from the beginning though... Even though the TV series follows the books fairly closely, there's a few key differences in the books that might confuse you if you skip the first three... Yara (Theon's sister) for example is called 'Asha' in the books. Even if you've watched all three TV seasons you'll still really enjoy the first books and get a much deeper understanding of the characters too.
