Nice one, I hope you enjoy your new toy I can't wait until I can afford mine but still (like you) I'm unsure what to go for. I really like the look of the 600D and I can't find any negative reviews. I do like the flip out screen but in reality I would just use it in the 'un-flipped' position most of the time.

I also like the idea of video and need at least 18MP. My budget is around the £600 mark but would like a couple of lenses with it (ideally 18-55 and 55-250 at least).

I've seen some on ebay from Hong Kong but not sure if these would be fake or a little dodgy? Here's a link to one of them.

What do you guys think?

I doubt they are dodgy but Dont buy on ebay from hong Kong you'll get custom charges and will be looking at another £100+ when it gets here, thats the same with digitalrev but if you buy from their site they pay it

Actually just checked out this link. Better buy I guess but would need a decent memory card as well.

At £524 that's within my budget and will leave a bit for an extra battery, 32 or 64 GB Class 10 memory card and maybe a couple of filter (UV and Polariser)

I think thats good deal,go for it. I was looking at that myself but i really wanted the 60d

I can get the dual lens kit (EF-S 18-55mm IS II & Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS II) with lens cleaning pen, lens cleaning cloth, 1 year replacement warranty & SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC UHS-I (95MB/s) 16GB for the grand total of £568.00

Well withing my budget. I will be buying this on 19th October (so in about 3 weeks today I shall be busy playing )

Shortly after I will be looking for a speedlight but again, I'll probably go for a 580-EX-MkII to start with, then at some point in the future I'll get a 600-EX-RT and use the 580 as a slave.

But that's waaay off yet, for the time being I will be playing with the new camera and then perhaps look into a photography course (circa £500)

I can't believe how excited I am about getting this camera - is it just me?

yes i believe panamoz is very good from what i've read in here, theres no custom charges with them either it states on their site thats import duty is paid for, my next problem is what walkabout lens?

If you want something that will last I'd shy away from the fancy flip-out screens on some of the more recent Canon DSLRs - I can only see these breaking and simply won't entertain them!

Imagining them breaking and actually breaking are two different things. Don't see many comments around people breaking their flip out screens and would presumably depend on how clumsy the user is (which rules me out from thinking about one!)

The screens are very secure and tougher than they look. I adore my swivel screen! Can get the perfect shot from all kinds of perspectives without hurting myself!! I wouldn't be without one now!

I counted down the hours to getting mine!

Just a heads up on the memory stick though - I'd get a second one too! Just in case!

I've actually got 2 x 16gb class 10 cards and I've just bought 2 x 32gb c10's because I keep filling them!

Yeah, I might buy another 16GB and see how I get on with that. Space isn't too much of an issue as I have a 2 x 1TB external HDD's that I can back up onto.

So, 2 weeks on Friday I should be the proud owner of my new camera, I can't wait

just waiting for arrival for my 60d now, wasn't happy with just one lens so bought the Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II LD which seems a good all round lens and with the f1.8 that should have me set up for a while,looking forward to their arrivals

I watch my friends climb all over the ground to set up a shot as I stand above my flip out screen turned upward. I cant tell you how many times I have heard the comment "I wish my screen did that". I suppose if you are very clumsy you may have a problem with it, then again if you are perhaps using a camera all together could be a problem.

Omg!! Noooooo!!! 2x 16gb cards!!! Run out of room and space and only had the 2 cards - both a jpg and raw file saved for each. So for every photo I take there's two files saved to the camera

The flip out screen is an asset as you say if its a problem its not the camera
