Now i have managed to purchase a lovely condition Nikon 500 AFS ( ver. 1 ) then i will be looking for some camouflage and protection.I have a cover for my Sigma 120-300 which i bought in the UK ( cant remember where from though ) but dont know if the lenscoat or others are a better fit. Anyone have opinions on where to buy.Must be camouflaged and must be a good fit.
 
Warehouse Express do the Lens Coats.

IMHO they are a great fit, but if you're looking for something that does the job but the fit isn't quite as prescise, then I'd recommend wildlife watching supplies www.wildlifewatchingsupplies.co.uk
 
love lenscoats, luckily my 2nd hand 400/5.6 came with one with it :) very nice fit, not sure about the sticky strips on the tripod collar etc, they seem to come off and look a bit stupid
 
Thanks for the replies. Ican easily find the ones for the 500 VR but not quite as much around for the AFS 1 version.Think i got my first one from wildlifewatchingsupplies but cant find one for this lens on their site.Many say the lenscoat is better though so looking for opinions before buying.
 
Love the Lens Coat range and have them on my 200-400, 600 and my Wimberley. Great for protection and make the gear more comfortable to touch in really hot or cold weather.
 
I think they are talking about the lens coats rather than the covers.

We should have some soon, pending testing of a new product.

If there is enough interest,we can do both Graham.

Like I said, we are awaiting delivery from a new supplier and we want to field test them before we offer them.The last ones from a different manufacturer were,quite frankly,crap.

As soon as we are happy with the quality Richard, we won`t sell until that is the case.So I can`t answer your question specifically,sorry.
