Having just bought a D2X foo Lawrence, I am wanting to pair it with a Tamron 70-300f4 VC USD lens, I have had this lens in Canon flavour and got some stunning results on a 700D which is 18mp, but will I get similar, better or worse results with the Nikon only being 12.1mp or am I thinking that MP dont make that much difference anymore, unless I want to print big banners

The D2X was a great pro camera in its day, although looking a bit jaded now.

It was also the last of the single digit Nikons with a crop frame sensor. From the D3 onwards they have all been full frame so you need to factor that into the equation. (Maybe you already have?).

Yes the Tamron will suit the sensor, I just hope I will get similar results strapped to the D2X, well I better had, the lens has just arrived and just setting up the 5 year guarantee

You'll notice the AF is far superior... And to be honest with you, I never noticed through use that it was glaringly older than my 700D and (at the time) 70-300 IS. I've short a fair fee crackers with the D2x, before I pretty much stopped using it, I used my old nikon 600mm AIS.. Which sadly won't be getting much use nowadays! IMG_1469042849.121655.jpg
