Yes
Am looking to get a new lens for my D200.

Currently have an 18-70mm but looking to get something along the lines of a 70-200 (or more if possible).

Main importance is obviously quality! Especially for "sports" shots where a quick focus time is a must but do not want to compromise on the quality of the final image if that makes sense!

Would anyone recommend the Nikon AF Nikkor 70-210mm f/4-5.6D? Having read on Ken Rockwells site it would seem that if I can find one this may be a good option??

Bugdet is negotiable but preferably no more than £200 but also happy to buy second hand, in which case what are the do's and don'ts for buying second hand?? If I really cannot get what I want for this buget then I'll just have to wait till birthday/xmas!

Oh, I have a fantastic 500mm mirror lens (sure there is a more technical term for it!) but being manual any tips with that?

Thankies

Before I spotted your budget I was going to suggest the Nikon 70-300mmVR which lives on my camera - unlikely you could even buy a used one for under £300
There is a new VR out that Kerso could probably do for around £200 (or import from HK for a bit less if you're brave) Its the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 G ED VR DX Lens

Sorry to sound really stupid (this is all very, very new to me!) but could you explain what is mean't by VR ED and DX??

Sorry to be such a pain :(

ETS: Budget is stretchable, but it just means waiting 4-5 months!

Not a pain!
VR is Vibration Reduction (Canon call it IS for Image Stabilisation)
ED is a special coating on the lens glass
DX refers to lenses specifically designed for use with digital cameras
Full details of these abbreviations & others can be found here http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/nikortek.htm#dx
