Anyone had a lens of any sort serviced? whats the usual turn around/cost? I've a sneaky suspicion the seals on my 24-70, well, aren't any more...in damp weather/large temperature changes I've been getting condensation on the inside of the front element :bang: yes its on a weather sealed 1dmkii body before you ask...no other problems such as focusing etc occur, just condensation which I'm assuming on a lens such as this, or others ideally, shouldn't happen on the inside
 
I've had a bunch of lenses serviced by Canon at Elstree in the last 3 months or so:

* EF 500mm f/4 L IS - damage to rear barrel from being dropped - £224
* EF 100-400mm f/4.5-6.6 F IS zoom tightening ring loose - free under warranty
* EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L - front end wobbly - free under warranty
* EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 - damage to front end from being dropped - £120
* EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS - front end wobbly - free under warranty
* EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS - damage to rear barrel and IS unit from being dropped - £395

Canon customer services are very good and efficient. Turn-round time is typically 1 week or a little longer.
