Hi All

I'm going on my first trip abroad in 3 weeks, and want to take my camera.

I'm going to New York and taking my nikon d5100, d3200. Sigma 10-20, nikon 55-300 vr and my nikon 50mm f1.8 (if it doesn't sell)

Thing is, I really want another lens.

Would you leave it with them lenses or look for another to take aswell?

What do you want to do with another lens?

I'm not too sure. As its my first trip to NYC I want to have the correct lenses on me. I'm going full tourist mode so taking pics of my trip. Just wondering what people think

You are covered from 10mm - 300mm, I'd have thought that's be enough cover for city general photography. Perhaps a fisheye might be an option tho.

this looks fine
for NYC surely you want WIDE!
and for candids the 55-300 is nice
the only thing missing is a general walk about range
which is 17-80 ish, but if you have that you'll loose your wide so it's tricky

I haven't been to New York so don't know what is best from experience, but looking at your selection of lenses I would think that collection should be ok. If you do manage to sell the 50/1.8 before you go then you it might still be handy to have something with a wider aperture. I used to use the 35/1.8 a lot and really enjoyed that lens. The extra width is quite nice and would fit a little better with the other two lenses. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be a great trip! Hopefully someone who has been to NYC will share their thoughts. Have a great trip!

I'm currently looking at the sigma 18-50 f2.8 and the sigma 50 f1.4 (to replace my nikon 50 f1.8)

Apart from that, I'm looking for a sigma 30mm f1.4

If you are going to enjoy being a 'tourist' in New York carry only what is absolutely essential to you, and keep it securely attached.
Don't flaunt anything of any value.
Between now and Christmas is silly season in New York, it will be fabulous and thrilling and everywhere will be packed. In the big sightseeing spots and all the shops you'll be lucky to have enough room to stick your elbows out let alone change lenses.
Treat yourself in The Grand Central Oyster Bar at 89 East 42nd Street - I envy you !

Thank you, that makes perfect sense. I am hoping to take one lens a day out with me. I've just bought a sigma 50mm f1.4 and a sigma 18-50 f2.8. That should do
