Hi all,

I'm taking a flying lesson shortly (which was a gift) and aside from the actual flying bit, I'm looking forward to bringing my camera along. Any thoughts on what len(s) might be useful? I was thinking an ultra wide to capture the feel inside the cockpit?

Thanks!

Budget, camera manufacturer? Otherwise I'm going to recommend the Nikon 24 f/1.4.

I did this a couple of years ago and a 17-50 did the trick. There'll be no time to change the lens, and there's enough going on that the photography will be second place. Take a decent all in one and enjoy the flight!

Ops that would help! I have a Nikon D600 and had been thinking about the 20mm 1.8G. So probably thinking around 300-500

Thanks! In your shots did you send more of your time at the wide end?

I did this a couple of years ago too, was a great experience going over Ladybower and Derwent Dam, as well as Chatsworth and other parts of the Peaks. I took a 16-50mm (on a crop body) at the time and mainly used the wide end, I think the only time I zoomed in a bit was when we went over Chatsworth House itself.

Have fun (y)
