lens recognition help please

A friend of mine has sent me this photo ,She is not a photographer but given this lens, it is not a very clear photo she sent
Can anyone please help with any information about it, ie make- year- value etc

Found this out after given more info

Kodak made this lens under several different names and for several different camera makes. It was made before 1938 when they started to add code letters to their lenses See below

" The key-word to decode the code is "CAMEROSITY", the letters standing for "1234567890". "RI", for instance, is 1958.<br>However: the code was introduced in about 1938. Lenses from before that date don't show it"

value £25/30, with filters and case may reach £40

That does not look like a pre-1938 lens to me! I would have said 1970s to 1980s.

Look for Optomax 300mm lens on Ebay, average sale price is around £25

I agree John......very 70's with the 4 colour stencilling and rounded tripod mount.

I was going by the number stamped on it not how it looked as in my post earlier. I may be wrong of course but the value isn't there anyway
