Thanks
Well worth rememberingApparently the Tamron 24-70 G2 has 5 stops of IS but users report more like 3.5 stops in their view.
That's what I heard anyway
Based on my copy, the f/4 IS was a long way behind the f/2.8 MKII.....very disappointing. The Canon EF 24-70 f4 IS lens does! Don't know how it compares in sharpness to the 24-70 Mk II but I'm sure an internet search for comparison tests and reviews would soon put you right on that.

Dont think it was miles behind the mk1 though, my boy's F4 was pretty close to my 2.8 mk 1, then again I need IS for most of my shotsBased on my copy, the f/4 IS was a long way behind the f/2.8 MKII.....very disappointing.
You're probably right there. I bought the f/4 IS to use for Liveview on IR bodies and hoped it would be somewhat comparable to the 16-35/4 IS as a new generation lens....mine wasn't.Dont think it was miles behind the mk1 though, my boy's F4 was pretty close to my 2.8 mk 1, then again I need IS for most of my shots![]()
