hi all a newbie would like to take photo,s of birds on and around a feeding table in woods approx ten feet from my caravan i have a cannon 300 d what lens would you recommend , i have a 300mm could i double up using a 2x convertor , thanks in anticipation.

What kind of birds? It makes a difference.....
