Lens Profile In Lightroom CC

Probably something painfully obvious but here goes. When I apply Lens Profile Correction in Lightroom CC it recognises My Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC as a Sigma 24-70. The distortion correction on the Sigma profile nowhere near matches what's needed for the Tamron so is there some way I can correct this and get Lightroom to automatically recognise and apply the correct profile?

I have no idea if this is accurate, but I noticed a similar comment on a recent Adobe blog where someone asked:

"Is the lens profile for Tamron 15-30 fixed? LR doesn’t recognize it when choosing auto in the lens correction. So I have to manually choose the tamron profile."

The reply was...

"Unfortunately, Tamron lens EXIF is missing key information for allowing auto match to work. You can use “Save New Lens Profile Defaults” on the Profile tab for images made with the 15-30 so that LR will have the hint it needs to automatically match the lens."

Hopefully that will help you a little.
 
It sounds like it's possibly not something that Adobe can fix. Here's a similar question from October 2012.

It gives the same advice as above, ie.:

The standard for lens metadata is relatively new, and as you noted, it's not being recorded fully. It's easily solved though.

1. Open a photo taken with the camera/lens combination.
2. Go to the Lens Correction panel and check the Enable Profile Corrections checkbox.
3. Select the correct lens make, model and profile from the pop-up menus.
4. Go to the Setup pop-up menu and select Save New Lens Profile Defaults.​
