Hi,

Has anyone used one of theses beforehttp://hama.co.uk/005614/hama-lenspen-minipro-ii
And if so how did it work. Looks like a useful thing to take on holiday instead of liquid cleaning fluid.
Cheers.

Been using them for the last few yrs ( Jessops version ) and found them to work fine , brush to gently wipe away particles ( after using a blower ) then the lens pen end thats impregnated with cleaning fluid to gently clean away smudges on the glass.

Yes I use them all the time with good effect.

You can get them much cheaper than on your link though....

Yes I was recommended one earlier this year because when I went on holiday I had write a bit of sand on my camera/lens, but didn't know what to clean it off with as I knew it would easily scratch.

A Giottos rocket blower paired with an official Lenspen did the job perfectly with no scratches whatsoever - I have used them both a lot ever since to maintain my sensor and lenses being dust-free.

Well worth the investment.

I have the same combination. They do an excellent job.

Ah, I'm glad these are good as I picked up a Hama lenspen for about £6 off Amazon. Just waiting for it to arrive!

WARNING

DO NOT use the small round felt pad when you receive it, try it out on the vack of your hand, there have been reports and I can confirm this as I had one, that some faulty ones have left a thick felt black pen residue behind.

I never use anything on my lenses until I fully check it, I touched it to my hand and it was so bad, on a plastic bottle I had to wash it with washing up liquid TWICE.

Dont think there is any difference to be honest, I just went for the official Hama Lenspen to be safe.

I've just watched the video on Amazon and it says that this is normal. The pad contains a carbon compound that will come off on your hand because it's not completely smooth, unlike a lens, or something like that. I might have to try mine out later! Never had a problem getting my lenses clean with it though.

Yers but, I then tried it old filters, ended up washing them to get it off

LensPen's cleaning compound is carbon based, similar to a pencil lead. It leaves black marks on all surfaces which are not very, very smooth.

Swear by the rocket blower, made the mistake of saying that since I bought the D300 2 years ago I hadn't had trouble with bobs on my pics (I had a lot with the D80) Sods law took over didn't it ,next time out shooting and got back to see a bl@@dy great black blob on all the shots.

Out with the rocket ,lens of ,mirror locked up, rocket the billy eck out of it with the camera pointed down.

Tentatively took some shots of the white ceiling ,:D:cool:
Job done........

Hi guys,
well mine arrived from Amazon, I tried it on my hand at first and yes some black marks came off. Then tried it on an old filter, and it all works fine, good little tool for when you are out and about.
Cheers Alex
