hi guys i have a 70-300mm VR lens but want something with a bit more reach that takes good photos looking at the below two:

Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens
Sigma 120-400mm f4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM Lens

Which is better? obviously i'm drawn to the 500 for maxiumum reach but is it any good? if not is there any good alternatives in the 600-750 price range?

Also i have a Lowepro flipside 400 would both these lenses fit inside?

Cheers Ben

Get a 1.4x TC for your 70-300... The Kenko teleplus DG is a good'un and can be utilised on your other lenses too

deffo a cheaper option.. although still like idea of sigma 150-500mm if it gets a good review?

Generally you don't want to be using a tc with a lens slower than f/2.8 - the 70-300 VR is f/5.6 at 300mm...

Other lenses may be better, sharper or have faster AF than the Sigma 150-500 but I doubt very much it can be beat as a really great value for money lens.

As Mark said, a big thumbs up for the Sigma.

Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens. Had one of these, good lens in good light. Early version that I had suffered from lens creep, where the lens zoomed out on the camera when held in downward position, bar that got some cracking in-flight photo's at air shows with it :-)
