Lens not showing up in exif data

Since the end of October, when looking at the exif details of my photos... the Tamron 28-75 F2.8 lens now doesnt say that. it says a variety of strange symbols like little squares and a Euro sign! its not always the same symbols but it never reads 28-75mm or whatever it used to read.

My other lenses dont do it. And I have blown and cleaned the contacts on the lens but no joy.

i use eclipse fluid and a pecpad to clean my contacts, this was recommended to me by Canon Service centre. Fixed my lens communication issues anyway !

Ah an update. It seems its only in Rawshooter Premium that this happens. Is shows everywhere else correctly, Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, DPP.

I wont bother then!! LOL
