Not sure if this is the correct section or not...

For some reason i have lost the lens model from my exif data. Flickr has always displayed which lens i used for the picture but now it is missing. All the other exif is there just the lens model info that has vanished. Any ideas?

Examples:

With info:

Without info:

Is it due to different cameras? Have you ever had that info on the D300? What happens if you upload another d750 I'mage (taken before you sent your camera away)?

It says 70 to 200 if you click on 'show exif':

  • ƒ/7.1
  • 200.0 mm
  • 1/800
  • 200
  • Flash (off, did not fire)
  • Hide EXIF
  • Make - NIKON CORPORATION
  • Contrast - Normal
  • Saturation - Normal
  • Sharpness - Normal
  • Subject Distance Range - Unknown
  • Lens Info - 70-200mm f/2.8

That's interesting as looking again both the recent d750 and d300 images state the lens in the exif yet don't have it in the main box under the camera type.

It seems to be a bit hit and miss as to whether or not the lens is shown in the first box, but it is usually noted in the extra exif data.
I've noticed it on my Flickr. I have to keep notes as I use a lot of old manual lenses.

Is this more a lens issue than body?

I noticed that in some of my earlier photos taken non Canon lens this information was missing. This applied particularly to Tamron and Sigma lenses. This information is there for all my Canon lenses attached to any of the Canon bodies I have owned.

Just a thought.

Both my lenses are Nikon, both showed the lens model but now they're both absent.

I've just checked my Flickr and two shots side by side - one has and one hasn't. Both taken on the same day with the same camera and lens.
