Or should I go for the 400 2.8 ......... :)
 
I spend a lot of cash on my hobbies but I really couldn't justify that much on a single purchase unless I was going to earn money from it.

A typical dammed if you do, dammed if you don't.

If you do you're bank manager won't be happy and you'll be eating pot noodles for the next six months.

If you don't you'll drive yourself crazy wanting it and trying to justify it at every turn, lol

i'm selling everything i can at the moment to fund a 24-70mm nikon lens. Mainly unused stuff from the loft and garage and its stuff that would probably sit there for another few years.

i'm up to 450 so far , which has really surprised me, almost half way!!

anyone need bmw alloys or a job lot of lightning damaged sky boxes lol !!:shrug:
 
Putting my sensible hat on try not to burn the plastic 1) It sets the alarms off and people are trying to sleep and 2)the fumes are not good for global warming or whatever

But

You may as well buy it, you know you want to :lol:

I suffer from the same condition but in a lower price bracket - still, best advice I can offer is buy it and sort out the little details afterwards!

If you apply man-logic to buying the 300mm instead of buying the 400mm how much would you have saved? See, it's your duty to buy it! Think of the saving you could make!

You could always sell a kidney or two. Even your own if you were desperate.
 
If you do decide to flog the kids to fund the purchase just remember not to give a money back guarantee :lol:
 
you could always hire one for a weekend

Tell your wife it's one of your old lenses but you finally read the manual and realised it had a button to extend the barrel... lol
 
Tell the mrs its worth twice as much than it is, then say theres a christmas special is 50% off, and you've never seen it so low... and buy it... whilst your at it if your gonna use this trick, will you buy me a lens too ? :D
 
Or tell the wife you're looking after if for another TP member who's working abroad for a couple of years!!! By then she'll forgotten you have it!!
 
or tell the missus you got it from a charity shop and as it had some bits missing it was only £30, works for me..
 
Thanks everyone :lol: for all your helpful suggestions .... :clap: Decided to keep the wife and kids for a couple more weeks :) till after xmas.
