Yes
Lost the hood from my Canon 24-105*, so need a replacement. Anyone know if the copies are any good? The prices are tempting - around 1/5th of the Real Thing - but pointless if it doesn't do the job. (And if anyone has one to sell, let me know!)

*If you must know, I dropped it into the harbour in Nice yesterday. Yes, I do feel pretty silly.

I've only ever bought 3rd party hoods and they fit perfectly.
What they don't have is any flocking on the inside like the originals but at a fraction of the cost I'd say try one anyway, if you don't like it then it's no loss.

As above. Bought a few from Amazon for my non 'L' leneses and they all fit perfectly well in nornal and 'reverse' positions.

IIRC, Premier ink sell 3rd party hoods at reasonable prices. Might be worth editting the perenthesised bit out of your post - :rules: !

I've had the odd 3rd party lens hood and been satisfied with them. I'd generally opt for a genuine hood if I can though.

If you go for a 3rd party one, make sure it's a matt finish inside - some of the cheap ones aren't and then you can get some reflections...
