not a happy bunny, and just a warning to anyone out there thinking about hiring a lens.

lensesforhire - the availability calendar is a bit deceptive... I tried to loan an 'available' lens for a Fri/Sat/Sun, but had my order cancelled because it was supposed to be loaned out to someone on the Monday, so I couldn't have it. So my advice is ask them before you set your heart on the purchase!

lenspimp - so then i went to lenspimp as Plan B, just had a call to say that the previous loanee has returned it late, so I can't have it for the days I want it. order has been cancelled. that's not their fault, but just to let you know this does happen!
 
I really really think someone is trying to tell me something about lens hire ... all I want is a 70-200 to shoot an event tonight :(

#1 - lensesforhire cancel my order due to double-booking
#2 - lenspimp cancel my order due to a late return
#3 - fixationuk tell me they're sending TWO lenses (admin error, but better to have two than none!)
#4 - fixationuk delivery no.1 arrives... it's a Canon-fit lens, not a Nikon.

I want to cry!
 
Your not having a good time, Have you tried Calumet, You can walk into there stores so its hard for the order to go wrong in the time it takes to pick the len off the shelf and hand it to you!

that sounds perfect! sadly there isn't one near me :(
maybe it's trying to tell me just to invest and buy my own 70-200 f2.8!
