Lens Hire in Edinburgh

Hi all

I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any places in Edinburgh that hire out or rent canon lens's

i am going down to a ferrari driving day at the weekend and I was looking to borrow a 300mm or there abouts lens

i only have a 24-70mm and a 55-200mm tamron lens.

they might be enough but just fancyed a canon or a digma 400mm

I was in Calumet yesterday and spotted a box marked rental in amongst a load of lenses. According to their website they do rentals but I'm not sure if it includes the edinburgh branch, no harm in giving them a phone 0131 553 9979 , it also means you can pick them up locally. Prices...well you'll need to delve into that. Their shop is at 3 Bonnington Business Centre

just called them, foook me they are expensive

They charge £47.29 a day, however the weekend charge would be £47.29 but the snag is they have to ship it from london, and that means u have to have it for a minimum of 4 days.

top that off with a £1000 deposit.

I think I will leave it cause I wanted the sigma 120-300 as I am thinking of buying it anyway. wanted to try before I buy.

will just make do with my tamron 55-200

So how much did they want in total? £47.29 times 4? Plus VAT, plus insurance, plus delivery? (It's not officially in their rental guide, so I can't work it out for myself.)

At LensesForHire.co.uk our minimum hire period is 3 days, but that doesn't include the day you get it and the day you return it, so you can get nearly 5 days of use out of it if you're lucky. For the Sigma 120-300 we'd be looking at £60 including VAT and optional insurance (£52 without insurance) plus £10.50 to deliver it to you.

Longer hires are much more economical though. Feel free to have a test-drive if you like.
 
yeah there shop is in dunbar, but The thing is I have no car to get to them.

yeah stewart I think I will hire your sigma lens to take it for test drive, cause I have the intension of buying it, cause I quite like my sigma lenses
