Hi People

How fast can a lens go ? . I have a new to me Nikon D3 that can take 9 frames per second and hope to use it with
my Sigma 150 - 600 C lens , Will the lens cope with that frame rate and survive ?

The only conceivable thing that it might suffer from is focusing delay... The shutter & mirror are in the body so that's your 9fps (max).

Now that 9fps might drop if the lens needs to refocus between shots as focus is acquired if that refocus takes time.

Obviously you can't take nine shots slower than 1/10s shutter speed either (so the theoretical 9fps is probably only achievable at the highest shutter speeds too)

I have the 150-600c with my 7d2 and this lens copes very well with it. Max frame rate 10fps.

The selected aperture can also impact frame rate, especially on larger lenses. The aperture has to close down and open again between each shot and physically larger diaphragms take longer to stop down.
