Yes
Been looking at quite a few lenses for my Canon 60D. I will use it for street, walkaround and possibly some landscape.
Canon EF 24/2,8 IS USM
Canon EF 28/2,8 IS USM
Canon EF-S 17-55/2,8 IS USM
Canon EF 24-105/4,0 L IS USM

As you can see I favour IS but I am not sure how important it is for this kind of photography. Please consider that my body is 1.6 crop if you suggest some other lens.

Personally I'd go for the 17-55 f2.8. As it gives you some versatility.

I use the 24-105 as a walk-around on a crop, is it limiting, at times perhaps but I the 10-22 is very light and not too large so try and carry this too.

If I know I'll be shoot landscapes or indoors I take the 17-55, but the IQ on the L does beat it hands down in my opinion, sharpness wise. Based on shots I've taken.

Are you sure that was a 17-55 f2.8 and not a kit lens 17-55

17-55mm hands down. For crop, you will want the less than 35mm field of view, it's not offered by 24-105L.

Only buy 24-105 and a 10-22 if you KNOW you'll be going full frame. otherwise what's the point of carrying around those extra weight and lenses?

Yep, kit lens would be 18-55 I think. The 17-55 is from wex, UK sourced and certainly cost it. It's good but I've got had more sort shots with it than the 24-105. Of course stopping it down helps.

The 10-22 is an EF-S though therer is a 10-20 that's EF, might be the sigma.

Most of what I shoot leans towards the tele end, so for me ...

Another vote for the 15-85 - almost up to L series standard.

I'm just bit afraid of the variable aperture, especially if I will shoot indoors sometime.

17-55 2.8 IS is a great walkabout and general purpose range, with f/2.8. Or trade 2.8 for more range with the 15-85. Both excellent.

The Canon 15-85 is a superb walkround on a crop body, excellent focal range, it's only downside is it's not f2.8 but then you can't have everything. Rarely comes off my 7D, and IQ is comparable to an L lens

+1 to the 15-85mm.
You could possibly get a nice prime lens to go with it with the money saved on the efs 17-55mm f2.8.

Thanks for the advices guys, but I've decided on the Sigma EX 30/1.4 DC HSM. I know it's more versatile to have a zoom but I feel it's more fun to have a fixed aperture and it's also "quicker" to take a photos as you know what kind of field of view you get all the time.

Does that make sense at all? I hope so :d

Another vote for the 15-85. Superb IQ if you can live with the aperture.

yes. makes perfect sense. I use my 35mm most of the time, only use the standard zoom lens on holidays.
