so going to italy for a couple of weeks, not sure what lenses to take

planning to take dp2 (42mm equiv), film leica with a lens or two (40,50,90)
lightweight tripod and cokin p filters

a77ii with 10-20 sigma 4 5.6

other lenses im considering

16-50 f2.8
70-200 2.8 sigma
35mm 1.8 sal (is very light)
60mm macro
70 300usd tamron
18-55 kit lens (bleh)
180mm macro sigma maybe, but screw drive :/

Will be sight seeing and going around old towns and villages mostly
thoughts?
 
my advice, travel as light as possible! ive travelled a lot recently and theres nothing more annoying than being bogged down by a heavy(ish) bag all day. If you just want to capture the great memories just use your phone camera, its what i ended up doing, haha. otherwise just bring the 16-50 2.8 if youre sightseeing. no point worrying about filters and focal length imo. Also no point worrying about getting the "perfect" shot and just enjoy the moment more.
 
What are you planning to photograph???? If its city -scapes then a wide angle is your best bet. 60mm Macro will cover anything insect-wise to a few portraits.

I agree with Sparkoss's point, nothing worse than a heavy bag in a hottish country .

I would pack the 60mm macro, 16-50mm , 70-200 f2.8, 10-22mm thats it. and your film stuff.

10-20,16-50 and 70-300. Taken a macro lens round Crete several times and used it on precisely no occasions! The very few times I've taken "macro" shots, a decent compact has fitted the bill plenty well enough. Unless, of course, your area of interest is bugs and little flowers, in which case, take the macro!
 
If its a holiday with a (non-photographing) partner, I'd take one camera and a couple of lenses or two cameras each with a lens. You will not want to be carry loads of kit, nor will you want to be swapping lenses all the time. If your partner is into photography then fill your boots!!

I did a weeks holiday in Tuscany a couple of years ago with just a Fuji X100 and was very happy with the results.
 
Hi if you are flying travel light most airlines allow ten kilos of hand luggage.
 
ive remmbered I got a 85 1.4 I could take too.. My plan is to keep some stuff in house/car and just take what I fancy on the day, I'm just indesive :/

but I've got a Lumia 1020 which is decent, just not sure what to take... But I do fancy some long lens landscapes :)
