Hi been looking at this lens Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM, ef fit to use with my EOS 50D what do people think of it is it any good and will it work ok with my camera
Simon

Normally its a choice between Canons 70-200mm f4 L and the Sigmas f2.8. I choose the Canon one because of the better build quality, quicker and quieter af, sharp and better quality photos that comes from Canons L series. Both lens are around the same price so it you dont need the f2.8 get the Canon one.

Hi the deal with the sigma lens fell through it was sold before i got home from work today:'(
So i now need your help i have a £350 budget for a zoom lens from 70/75 to 200/250/300 and i want the fastest and sharpest my budget will allow might be able to squeeze another £30 but that would be tops:help:

I might be getting rid of a Sigma DG 70-300 was going to place it on here soon

i just got the canon 70-200 f4 for my 50d and its incredible

been out testing today

Hi the f4 canon well out of my price range plus a overkill for me just starting out
if the sigma had have been a APO one i might have been interested

Thanks for that thinking i might go for a sigma 70-300 APO new for that price it should do me for 12 months or more then look into better lenses need to learn first then go for top notch kit that is my thought might be wrong?

Go for the sigma. its fantastic. Anyone who thinks its not built well haven't held one. could quite easily use it as a murder weapon then for work the next day. totally solid. also comes with the tripod collar and nice padded case which the canon doesn't!

It may be above your budget but in the long run it worth it.
Keep checking ebay, I managed to get mine for a smidge over 400 brand new :)

i would go with the canon 70-200L f4is s/h if your budget allows ....
