Lens Focusing issues

I seem to be having some slight issues with my 24-135 IS lens.
I'll take a picture, all seems ok, then when I get home and put it on my lappy the image is not very sharp. I can sharpen in PS but not to the extent required.

Is it me or the IS function, I keep it switched on most of the time.
Is there any way I can check its me or the lens?

Doh!
I have just looked at the Exif info on some of the pictures I was not happy with..
I'm a muppet!
I guess I'm asking too much of the IS shooting at F22 1/3"
You know when you see somethign, pick the cam up and shoot..check the histogram....

LOL. I think you sussed the problem. What mode are you shooting in Scoff?

AV generally for landscapes etc... TV for sports, or Manual if i think Ive got it sussed.. not too often!
