Hi Liam, I'm sure the filter adapter would fit fine on your camera. The filters will be rather expensive for 72mm, and it also depends on what filters you want to use with it. If it's just for a UV filter I'd have to say forget it, but ND or CPL would be possible.
As for the 2.2 telephoto I had a similar lens for a 58mm lens and the results were worse than poor. I couldn't get it to look anything other than very misty and washed out on any of the lenses I tried it on. Wouldn't have another one for myself, although if you could try one first, it might be worth trying.
 
Thanks for the reply Stuart, I would use it for more than just UV filter so might give it a go. As for the telephoto i might see if i can borrow one from somewhere to try it out as you said :)
