Lens feels 'loose'

Hi, i've just purchased a Sigma 18-50mm 3.5-4.8 (i think thats right) off ebay.

It turned up yesterday, and im happy with the extended range i now have, however the part of the lens which moves in/out feels quite loose. It will actually wiggle about a 1mm either way

Have i bought a lemon?

My advice would be Google the problem and see if its common. My 55-250 has the slightest bit of wiggle bit its minimal and doesn't affect it in any way. Does it affect the pictures? Was it bought new?

Not sure I can be much help, but I have had a similar problem with a relatively new Tamron lens and have sent it back for a service. Not had any news back from them yet, but I have heard of people living with this and it not being an issue. I only sent mine back as it was fine when I first got it.
