Lens dilema

Hi all

Long time reader, first time poster looking for a bit of advice please

Hope this is the right place for this question?

I'm looking to treat myself to a new lens but in a dilema as to which one

My current kit consists of

Nikon D3s
Nikon D300s
Sigma 300 F2.8
Sigma 70-200 F2.8

I predominently shoot both codes of rugby and just recently got into non league football

Hope the above gives enough background to help with the any advice offered

After a lot of reviews on the net the dilema is do I

A) Get a 200-400mm f4?


B) trade in the sigma 300mm for a nikon 300mm (i'm not displeased with the sigma tbh - from reading around there appear to be bad copies out there but i've no complaints with mine except with a convertor it does lose sharpness so I seldomly use it, which i'm sure i could with a nikon)

C) put my money back under the matress and keep saving for a 400mm F2.8I'm inpatient and its going to be quite a bit more saving required

D) I read a thread earlier about the 200mm F2 being superb and the option to 1.4x and 2x convert has thrown an additional dilema in there now, I

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, hopefully from others that have asked themselves similar questions, be interested to know which way they went.

I suppose you have to ask yourself if you earn enough from your photography to pay for the upgrade.
 
That aspect is fine which is why I didnt have option e) stick with what I have
 
I never stated money wasn't a problem, just answered your question about justifying an upgrade to myself which I can.

My initial question is asking about trading off costs v the next step in equipment ownership

Bit unsure why I'm having to justify asking for advice on a forum?

Wow been here since 2009 and only 4 posts? Arguments already? Great start.
 
I genuinely thought I was asking a sensible question on where I take my next steps in equipment ownership

Well Richard, simple really, you asked for my advice once before on another forum and totally ignored the main aspect of the advice i gave you which was not to give your images away for free, you continued to do so and you and other photographers like you cost me, my agency and several other photographers money from the 2 trade papers.
