Yes
Is it normal for a lens to become totally misted over on the inside when going from cold to warm conditions.

I understand condensation but should it happen with a quality lens ?

It just worried me when it happened today because if there was moisture inside the lens however small, would it not promote fungi ?

Just leave it in the warm room and it will return to being not misted.
Best defence against fungus is to store your kit in a dry ventilated place.

Happened to me on lots of occasions , more so with my 400mm 5.6 and when it does i get a large zip bag and fill with rice and leave in my airing cupboard overnight ,always works for me.

Totally normal. Expensive lenses still have to obey the laws of physics.

If my kit is cold I leave it in the bag and put it in a cold room in the house for a couple of hours before moving it to a warm room.
