Morning all

I have two lenses in my possession, and want to keep one of them. I keep wanting to find differences between them, to make the decision easier, but cant find anything that swings it one way or the other!!

I have done controlled tests on a tripod. A days shooting with each lens in "real world" type scenarios, focus tests and still cant find anything which makes me prefer one over the other.

So I wondered if anyone could give me a test or something I can do to help me make my mind up?

Strange question I know, but what do you do to determine if you like a lens?

Canon 35mm f2 L or f1.4 L?

If it is a Canon f2 and Sigma f1.4 I'd be inclined to keep the Sigma f1.4, because the wide aperture is one of the main reasons for the purchase in the first place.

If they are both f1.4 lenses some people may say only Canon lenses, or L lens etc, but if you can't tell the images taken with them apart, why keep the more expensive lens.

If you can't see an optical difference between them, and the build quality is on a par, sell the most expensive one imho.

Just my 2p's worth. ;)

There is no f/2L so it must be the f/1.4.

Most people seem to think the Sigma is actually sharper than the Canon but it does vignette quite a lot wide open. I think it boils down to personal preference really as I can't see a lot to separate them.
